Situation & Aspect: Lower panel of three light window. East end of former fishermen's public. .

Dimensions: Width 0.79m Height 1.04m.

Brief: To create Millennium Panel commemorating Hastings fishing industry and men lost at sea, replacing a previous flaking cold painted panel, & complimenting stained glass above it by local artist Mary Dobson made in the 1950's, theme; Calming of the water.

Description: The design is divided by a flowing cruciform structure in the centre of which is a fishing boat (which is housed in the museum), and a draught of fish, with to each side hands holding herring; both taking and giving back. In the four corners imagery suggested by the committee specific to Hastings is included, such as the tall net houses peculiar to Hastings.

Materials & Techniques: All "Antique" mouth blown glass, heraldic gull flashed glass etched. sailors includes stain and ruby enamel. The white tubs, which involved visual research on a wild tub farm, are partly 
 painted using very long brushes ("duck").
